3km Cross Country Event Information
The Course
3k course
The 3k course runs from the Hobsonville Point Primary School down to Bomb Point and back. Bomb Point is where you can see several historical ammunition sheds used decades ago. These are now off limits behind a fence. There are views of Waitemata Harbour if you aren't too focussed on placing one foot in front of the other.

Dress Up
Why not get your team to dress up in your school colours or a theme that represents your school.
It's always more fun getting dressed up so this year we would love to see you getting creative and coming along in a costume. Here are a few ideas to help you out:
- Create a pair of plane wings. You could use anything from old cardboard boxes or egg cartons to wire and Mum's old stockings.
- Come dressed as an army cadet or solider.
- Encourage Mum and Dad to dress up too. They could come as air hostesses or pilots.
- The choice is yours though, so the more creative the better.
Course Safety and Event Rules
This event may be postponed or cancelled in extreme weather conditions at the Event Managers discretion. If this occurs there will be no refunds, but you will have the option to receive a credit for the following year's Henderson-West Auckland Lions Club Hobsonville Point Runway Challenge.
Parts of Hobsonville Point are open to the public so please respect their space.
Entrants must help other entrants in trouble and notify the next available course marshal. Course marshals will be in yellow vests and positioned around the course.
Supporters
If your child(ren) would like to enter the 3km cross country run you may run with them for support. We would prefer that you enter to run with your children. Remember all entry fees are donated back to children in our community. Your support would be appreciated.
The course is very accessible to parents/ carers who would like to take photos and cheer the participants on from different locations around the course. Please be considerate to the people doing the event and do not obstruct the path if you are a supporter.
