Course Information
5km Event
The 5km event is open to all ages to walk or run. The course covers a large area of Hobsonville Point, using the Coastal Walkway, with beautiful scenery, with the board-walk, past the ferry wharf and around historical Bomb Point. At Bomb Point you can still see the ammunition storage sheds used decades ago - but these are off limits behind a fence these days.

10km Event
The 10km event is open to all ages to walk or run. It is essentially two loops around the 5km course. Watch carefully for the 5km-10km signs on your first time around; and the second time around go to the finish. Don't three times around!

Event rules
This event may be postponed or cancelled in extreme weather conditions at the Event Manager's discretion. If this occurs there will be no refunds, but you will have the option to receive a credit for the following year's Henderson Lions Club Hobsonville Point Runway Challenge. Remember all proceeds will be donated to children in the community who are in need.
All entrants must stay on the course and pass all marshals. Tail-end marshals will follow the last competitor and ensure everyone is off the course safely.
The tracks are open to the public so please respect their space. The course will cross Hobsonville Point Road and Buckley Avenue. These roads will not be closed so you will need to observe normal traffic rules.
Qualified ambulance and safety support will be available both out on the course and at the event base.
Entrants must help other entrants in trouble and notify the next available course marshal (wearing yellow Lions vests). First Aid staff will be available throughout the course.
Supporters
If your child(ren) would like to enter the 3km cross country run/walk you may run with them for support. Remember all entry fees are donated back to the community so we would prefer you paid an entry fee.
The course is very accessible to parents/ carers who would like to take photos and cheer the participants on from different locations around the course. There will be officials around the course to help entrants if needed.
Please be considerate to the people doing the event and do not obstruct the path if you are a supporter.
